Louis XV-period gold OVAL TABATIERE, Paris, 1763-1764, presumed goldsmith Jacques BOUILLEROT, received master in 1759, died in 1793. Fine decoration engraved and chased in three golds with medallion-shaped farming trophies on the lid and base against a background of fluting within a border of posts, flowers and shells; the sides adorned with fluting and graccias. Hallmarks: goldsmith; letter-date Z; charge: farmer Jean-Jacques Prévost (1762-1768), discharge: dog. Weight: 112.5 g. 3.4 x 6.5 x 5 cm
