FALAISE: In "Le Journal de Falaise" of November 8, 1884, we find the following advertisement: "Photographie Parisienne - place Saint-Michel - Falaise. M. Ghezzi, an artist photographer who has worked in Milan, Rome, Brussels and Paris, has the honor of informing the inhabitants of Falaise that he will open his photography cottage next Thursday, November 13... People will be able to choose their poses, from landscape backgrounds, white backgrounds, rocks, boat bridges and all the accessories needed for posing. Magnificent waiting room..." Fifteen months later, in "La Lanterne falaisienne" dated January 28, 1886, "Aristide Ghezzi informs his clientele that he has just set up a new apparatus to offer all his customers charcoal enlargements guaranteed unalterable...". In the spring of 1886, 27-year-old photographer Aristide Ghezzi and his wife Elisa Pellegrini are listed on rue de l'Abbatiale in Falaise.
FLERS: In 1888 or 1889, the photographer moved to rue de la Fontaine in Flers. He probably succeeded Louis Aupois, who had been active at this address and died on September 3, 1888. In 1892, Aristide Ghezzi moved his studio to 29 rue de la Gare. He was listed there in 1901, along with his Italian wife and nephew François Louis Serena, who went on to become a photographer in Alençon (Orne).
