In 1985, Jean Olf Lammers made a documentary entitled Dolly van Dongen, girl and model. His cameraman, Martin van Dalen (1932-2009), acquired our drawing from Mrs Augusta van Dongen (1905-1992),
known as Dolly, the artist's daughter. She signed the back of the sheet with the date
November 9, 1985.
After the death of Martin van Dalen, the work was acquired by the director
Jean Olf Lammers who kept it for some time and then sold it to a Dutch
to a Dutch antique dealer. The current owner of the drawing bought it from him.
