Jean-Francis AUBURTIN (1866-1930). Young woman leaning towards a swan. India ink, gouache and pastel monogrammed lower right. 25 x 33 cm. Between 1902 and 1912, Auburtin modelled himself on the dancers of Loïe Fuller and the American Isadora Duncan, who had founded dance schools in St Petersburg, Berlin and Meudon. The girls, whom the dancer considered her children, never posed naked but, very modestly, in tunic.
